Michael Kors is announcing an exclusive, long-term partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme, dedicated to helping solve the international hunger crisis as a part of Kors’ philanthropic platform.
The World Food Programme has been providing food assistance to people in need around the world for 50 years, working in over 70 countries and feeding 90 million people a year. It is the largest organization in the world dedicated to fighting hunger. It also provides emergency and developmental assistance in these countries. By partnering with WFP, Michael Kors hopes to raise awareness and funds to help this cause.
Since April, 2013, Michael Kors presented his “100 Series Watch,” two specially designed watches as apart of the brand’s Watch Hunger Stop campaign. For each watch sold, 100 children in a hunger-stricken areas will receive a nutritious meal. The two watches are available in Michael Kors stores worldwide and online, for $295.
The Watch Hunger Stop t-shirts will be given away for free at the Berlin Michael Kors store between 10am and 8pm on October 16th. Using #WatchHungerStop and pictures of people wearing the shirts are encouraged to be shared on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter on that day to promote this worldwide cause. There will be a livestream in Times Square of the social media feed, as well as pictures of customers (possibly you) wearing the t-shirts in Berlin. Help spread the word!
