They started preparing the show yesterday and are testing the lightning tonight … so here is a preview (view from our office). Looking forward to the show & after party tomorrow – check back for more!

If you ever wonder what is in those bags these Fashion People carry around … have close look. Actually Peek & Cloppenburg had the best things a Moleskin notebook and a little roller to get these things away from your black dress other than that … well … it`s a nice bag for girls ;)

Friday 16th of Jan. Brides gone wild – The Runaway Brides live @ Grüner Salon

January 15, 2009

brides

This Friday January 16th @ Grüner Salon – Starting time 20:00 highly recommended for a lot of fun and a hell of a good time – those girls are worth seeing!

Spreading the gospel of country music to people who don’t even know they like country, six girls from four different nations formed the band The Runaway Brides in 2006 and have laughed, cried, and sang together ever since. Take a punk rock drummer and pair her with a classical violist; add a jazz singer playing a stand-up bass, a bluegrass mandolin player from Kentucky and two loudmouth divas with voices like single malt whisky and you have The Runaway Brides. This ain’t your average country band.

Behind the scenes.

Asia. Finally. We did a shooting for BERLIN LOVES YOU in HONG KONG. On january first we had the chance to take Violet the model Harry C and his assistant + Crew through Hong Kong and take a great couple of shots. Harry C is one of the upcoming chinese photographers who – amongst Berlin Loves You shoots for interntaional brands or international celebrities like Kate Moss and lots of Asian celebrities. Harry, thanks again for your time and the great pictures – which will be published on the Berlin Loves You Webpage in a bit. Hong Kong is a crazy city and I loved being there and doing a shoot for Berlin Loves You.

“Der Himmel muss warten” Photo Exhibition in Kreuzberg

January 11, 2009

Yesterday  we went to the opening of “Heaven must wait”. The exhibition shows result of a documentary of Berlin performance art subculture. And subculture it was! The audience went from punks to young and old people. Dogs with jackets and I am not really sure if I saw a cat or not. Beer and red vine out of plastic cups was served. Smoking only outside. When an opening is good you can`t see it from the outside because the windows are clouded. Fridays and Saturdays are a heaven for art lovers in Berlin. Especially in Mitte around Aguststr. you can literally fall from one opening into  the other. This one was in Kreuzberg and very interesting because it had this nice but also bizarre performance included.

Seeing all these characters inspired my friend Christoph to tell me about his plans to make a TV Series set in Berlin including many different characters whos lifes change in one drastic moment. More to come once he has the rights secured ;)

Anyways, go and check these things out even if you think that it might not be your cup of tea – it might very well be your bottle of beer though! This is Berlin.

The Bird – New York style Hamburgers in Berlin – YES!

January 11, 2009

Ok – this one was tough. Whoever has eaten one of those juicy american hamburgers won`t forget them for a long time and probably won`t find them outside the US. This is what I thought when I got to Berlin. Well luckily there is a place – a little american heaven called “The Bird“. On weekends its best if you get a reservation and bring some extra money since the quality is excellent and the Burgers are f****** huge!

So here it is – finally a really cold and white winter in Berlin. Reminds us of how close the east and the cold Russia really is. I am posting some pictures of our friend Jürgen Gässler who is a photographer in Berlin and has been here longer then the most of us – how does 30 years sound?! Check out his webpage: Cityslang
